Project Life | Newbie

I am kinda really excited to start Project Life. I didn't really know what it was up until a few weeks ago...but now that I do, it seems really easy! So I decided to try it out, and it is really easy! I wanted to share my first couple layouts with you. I am still going to be doing my 52 week project, and I will continue to post that every week. I am going to take project life at a slower pace, it's so easy and addicting though, so who knows I might have a weekly one to share too. I think project life is so great because it's a really manageable and I can create most of my cards in the computer, print, cut and maybe add some washi tape. I love washi tape! I don't have kids, and I don't travel much...so you might be thinking um why is this girl scrap booking!? I started scrap booking to document Jordan and I's recent move to Utah...because I think it will be fun to look back on someday. Everything in our lives suddenly has changed...jobs, location, our little dots and stripes business, and new adventures exploring Utah. I also love getting creative outside of the computer...something about cutting paper, adding little phrases in your own handwriting, and maybe some of those AC thickers here and there. It just feels good to create something and documenting memories! Hope you enjoy the photos and get inspired yourself!
More photos after the jump:)

  1. I'm so glad that you've found Project Life, it's great fun. I don't do it weekly, neither do I make the 12x12 format - I always cut my inserts down to a smaller size and I don't document it on my blog yet, but I really would love to feature it more on my blog in 2013 as it's been so much fun! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

  2. I've been doing PL in 2012 (almost done now!): http://nicole.webseitler.com/category/project-life/ I haven't had much time to blog about it, though...

I wanted to thank you for sharing your pages! I really need to simplify in 2013, because I cannot do as much embellishment this year--it's pretty, but it really took over my life! I have gotten a TON of ideas from your pages for simply typing on my photos and adding journaling blocks. LOVE IT! :D

    1. Thank you so much! I just started project life, so it's nice to hear people like my style! I have a ton of embellishments too, they are so fun, so I think it's alright if they make an appearance here and there :) Good luck with your simplifying :)

I'm curious, how much of your layout is on top of the page protector? Like the pockets & stuff, or do you slip it all inside?

    Thanks,

    1. A great place to find supplies is Amazon. But I also love to just create my own project life cards from photos I've taken or magazine clippings! Best of luck to you! It's so much fun!
