Just Life | Time.
Something I need more of, seriously! Sometimes I wish I could just push a pause button, or add more hours into the day! I'm a big fan of list making so I can keep my priorities in order and not get off track, but things just take so much longer than expected! Anyways I wanted to make a super short post before I call it quits for the day. A helpful tip......
I have been working on sketches and ideas for a portfolio. I have an idea of what I want to do but not really sure how to go about making it happen. I have also been brainstorming some ideas for self promotions, which then brings me to branding myself...which seems like it would be easy right? I am my own client, which gives me total creative freedom, every graphic designers dream!!! But that's the hard part...one day I want a super girly concept, then I come up with a nautical idea, then I want grunge and...you get the point. It's a problem, and if I try to combine all these different thoughts and ideas into one design it could end up looking like, well, design puke. gross. Ok, so now that I have rambled on and on about things you don't care about here is my tip below. If you are in the same situation as me...senior about to graduate, needing to make or refresh your portfolio then this is for you for sure! I hope you find this helpful!
I have been reading this great book that has some really great advice and explains some really helpful//useful//necessary steps for creating a portfolio. These steps have really helped me slow down this process and stop to think. Plus putting time aside to read everyday has been really refreshing and gives me some good time to get away from the computer for a little while.
